The Mort Lagoon

Declared one of the 11 most beautiful beaches in Italy by Legambiente, it is a naturalistic area created by the flooding of the Piave River in 1936. Mort is precisely the lagoon that stretches between Eraclea Mare and the mouth of the Piave River and is only fed by the tides, so it has sandy bottoms, dunes and natural bumps.
This area, between the sea and the pine forest with its 5,000 trees, is a stopover for numerous species of migrating birds such as the buzzard, mallard and pintail, as well as a nesting site for the kentish plover, a protected species that lays its eggs right on the beaches. The best way for children to discover all the beauty of nature, in an unspoilt area, coloured by clear sand and crystal-clear water.

At Eraclea Mare there are several free beach areas, including one dedicated to those who go to the beach accompanied by a four-legged friend.
The free beach provides ample space for children to play and is also the ideal place for those who wish to spend a few days completely relaxing.
